He was also suffering from severe depression due to lack of promotion.
According to sources all of Adeel Akbar’s batch mates were promoted to the post of SP last year. BuT his promotion was postponed until the next board.
ASP Adeel Akbar was posted as SPI-9 in Islamabad Police. He was the father of a one-year-old daughter.

It should be noted that SPI 9 Adeel Akbar was shifted to the hospital in a seriously injured condition. But he died during treatment.
The sources added that Adeel Akbar had made a visit to Haji Camp just before the incident to gauge security deployment. He had met with officers on the ground during the visit, examined security provisions, and made orders to stay vigilant.
