Corp Commander's meeting with CM KP

According to well-informed sources, on Friday, a senior officer of a sensitive institution’s provincial office contacted the constitutional head of the province and requested him to accompany him to the Corps Commander’s office.

However, the constitutional officeholder — who had already been avoiding a meeting with that officer — politely responded, saying:

“In accordance with the dignity of my office, it is appropriate that meetings be held in my own office. If he wishes to visit, I would have no objection.”

This response displeased the officer from the sensitive institution. He expressed his annoyance, adopted an inappropriate tone, and left the premises.

When the matter came to the attention of the Corps Commander, he demonstrated prudence and maturity by recognizing the delicacy of the situation. After reprimanding the concerned officer, the Corps Commander personally visited the office of the provincial constitutional head, congratulated him on assuming office, and discussed matters related to law and order in a cordial atmosphere. He then took his leave with great respect.

The purpose of recounting this incident is to highlight that many disputes arise from mid-level officials who overstep their boundaries. Constitutional officeholders must preserve the sanctity of their positions, and government officials are obliged to show due respect to those offices.

It is in everyone’s best interest to avoid unnecessary “covert interventions” and to uphold institutional respect above all.

Sources from the Chief Minister’s House have confirmed that Corps Commander Peshawar, Lieutenant General Umar Ahmad Bukhari, met with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi on Friday. According to sources, during the meeting, Sohail Afridi told the Corps Commander that the people of the province had given a mandate to Imran Khan, and that the law and order policy would be formulated in accordance with Imran Khan’s mandate.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister was invited to attend a security briefing at the Corps Commander’s House. The Chief Minister responded that he would attend the briefing after meeting Imran Khan.
